BW Fusion buys Low Mu Tech to expand seed-applied crop nutrition platform

BW Fusion, a US agricultural inputs company focused on biologicals and crop nutrition, has acquired Low Mu Tech, a developer of seed-applied carrier technologies, in a move aimed at strengthening its position in the fast-growing seed-care segment. The deal brings under BW Fusion’s control a proprietary delivery system used to apply microbes and micronutrients directly to seed, an area that has attracted rising investment as growers look for ways to improve early-season crop performance while cutting conventional chemical use.
Low Mu Tech, founded by Brian Tulley, is best known for its Dust and Inclusion Carrier Technology, which is designed to improve seed flow through planters while reducing airborne dust and operator exposure. The technology is already used in BW Fusion’s BioBoost planter box treatment, which applies biologicals and nutrients at planting to support root development and early growth. By acquiring Low Mu Tech, BW Fusion gains ownership of the underlying carrier platform, allowing it to integrate seed-applied biologicals more tightly with its crop-nutrition and data-driven agronomy offerings.
BW Fusion said the transaction supports its strategy of building a vertically integrated platform spanning nutrition, biologicals and digital agronomy tools. Financial terms were not disclosed. The combined company will continue to develop new seed coatings and delivery systems aimed at improving application efficiency and reducing waste at planting, areas that seed companies and growers increasingly see as critical to both farm economics and regulatory compliance.
