Engelmann & Buckham secures packaging lines contract for Yara International’s new UK plant

Engelmann & Buckham (E&B) has been selected to equip Yara International’s upcoming global production facility in Yorkshire, UK, which is slated to begin operations in early 2026. This facility is poised to become one of the world’s largest producers of specialty crop nutrition products and biostimulants, particularly under Yara’s YaraVita & YaraAmplix brands.
The collaboration with E&B, a firm with extensive experience in the UK and Irish markets, is part of Yara’s broader strategy to expand its global footprint and enhance service to its worldwide customer base. E&B’s role will involve supplying advanced packaging lines, leveraging their access to cutting-edge machinery from top manufacturers in Europe and the United States.
Yara’s new plant will cover a 300,000 square foot area and is designed not only for efficiency but also to accommodate roughly 700 visitors annually, underscoring its role as a showcase for innovation in agricultural technology and sustainability. Construction commenced in September 2023, with an expected completion by 2026.
Joe Kidd, Yara’s Project Manager, highlighted the critical criteria for selecting E&B: understanding of Yara’s business needs and capability to meet tight deadlines. “We were able to visit all the manufacturers involved and view their production facilities. This enabled us to feel comfortable with E&B’s ability to deliver the right equipment at the right time,” said Kidd.
E&B is set to provide a range of machinery, including filling and labeling systems suitable for various container sizes, from 1-liter drums to 1000-liter IBCs. The equipment will be sourced from five different manufacturers, demonstrating E&B’s extensive network and project management capability.
