BIOTROP names Jonas Hipólito as new president

BIOTROP Soluções Biológicas, a division of the BioFirst Group and a global leader in biological and natural agricultural solutions, has announced a significant leadership transition. Jonas Hipólito, co-founder and former Director of Strategy and Innovation, will succeed Antonio Carlos Zem as President.
Antonio Carlos Zem, who was instrumental in driving BIOTROP’s achievements over the last seven years, will remain with BioFirst as a member of its Global Board. This role will enable him to contribute his expertise to other divisions within the group. Zem’s tenure saw BIOTROP achieve over BRL 760 million in revenue (about USD 125.9 million), expand production capacities, introduce groundbreaking technologies, and enter international markets such as the U.S. and European Union.
Jonas Hipólito officially assumed his new role on January 15, with Zem overseeing the transition until March 31. Hipólito, an agronomist with a master’s degree in Sustainable Crop Production from Montpellier SupAgro in France and certifications from Cornell and Harvard, focuses on the company’s global expansion as well as on innovation, sustainability, and development of cutting-edge technologies.
BIOTROP operates in over 70 countries and remains committed to providing high-quality agricultural solutions. The company aims to accelerate internationalization efforts and strengthen operations in Brazil and abroad, driving sustainability and industry transformation.
