Agro complexes of Russia’s newly attached regions received almost $39 million in support

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrey Razin attended the meeting with farmers from Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, where they discussed state support and preparation for field works in their areas.
Last year, 3 billion rubles (almost $39 million) were allocated to support the agro-industrial complex of recently joined areas within the framework of the regions’ socio-economic development programs. First, the funds were used to compensate for part of the costs of milk production and agrotechnological work. In the future, it’s also planned to provide subsidies to increase the production of bakery products, vegetables, and potatoes.
Besides, preferential short-term loans will be available to farmers. The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia has already developed appropriate draft rules which have been sent for approval. In addition, a program of preferential leasing should be launched soon. Independently, measures are envisaged to preserve jobs at agro-industrial complex enterprises.
