Crimean Titan may restart idle production

The Crimean Titan enterprise (the city of Armiansk, Crimea) may relaunch the production of mineral fertilizers if railway traffic through southern Ukraine is resumed, said Georgy Muradov, Representative of the Republic of Crimea under the President of Russia.

“The operations of the plant stopped eight years ago since there were issues with the delivery of raw materials,” wrote Georgy Muradov in his telegram channel. “It would be too expensive and unsafe to deliver it by road.”

Crimean Titan produces titanium dioxide. Previously, its product portfolio also included ammophos used in agriculture.

“In 2017, Crimean Titan planned to implement a project to build a complex for the production of NPK fertilizers with a capacity of 216 thousand tons and investments at about 131.33 million rubles (approximately $2.1 million),” commented the information and analytical service of Fertilizer Daily. “If Crimean Titan resumes production of mineral fertilizers, they will be demanded among farmers in the Crimea, Krasnodar, Stavropol and Rostov regions.”
