Digital Agro became an InfoBis’s investor

Digital Agro, leader of the Russian market of IT solutions and services for agriculture, has closed a deal to buy a 25% stake in InfoBis, developer of Agrosignal planning, online monitoring and agricultural business management system.

Digital Agro acquired a part of stakes belonged to the company’s shareholders, founders of the Agrosignal system and the Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF).

In 2017, IIDF invested 100 million rubles (approximately $ 1.740 million) in the company which developed Agrosignal. In the next two years, Digital Agro may acquire the entire share of the fund. Other details of the transaction are not disclosed.

“Digital solutions are the least integrated in agriculture compared to other industries, both in Russia and abroad. Under our brand, we combine the world’s best technologies employed by farmers. By integrating Digital Agro and Agrosignal products into a single digital platform, we are building a new national standard of quality in the delivery of digital solutions and services to agribusiness,” said Nikolay Bobrov, General Manager of Digital Agro.

Digital Agro creates an open ecosystem for the entire agro-industrial complex based on the Digital Agro digital platform. The priority course of action is the development and provision of technology to ensure a significant (up to 15%) cost reduction and an increase (up to 20%) in the profitability of agricultural production.

For example, the company is developing the software solution – Assistant Agronomist (helps to plan and control field work), the educational project – Open Agricultural University “Knowledge Land”, and provides recommendations for improving land use efficiency. Digital Agro’s strategic partners are Uralchem and Uralkali (within the framework of the partnership, they use the service to automate agronomic tests and make recommendations for agricultural producers).
